The lead project designer course is accredited by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Lead Project Designer licensing is required for those designing projects with 10 or more residential units.

Lead Inspector

This three-day course covers the essentials of inspecting commercial and residential properties for the presence of lead. Participants are instructed in virtually all aspects of lead detection, as well as appropriate regulatory, legal, safety and community health issues. Methods of XRF analysis are emphasized with considerable opportunities for hands-on experience. Topics Include: State and Federal Regulations and Guidelines Lead Hazard Issues and Health Effects Legal Issues for Inspectors Identification of Lead-Based Hazards Protocols for Indoor and Outdoor Sampling of Lead Dust, Paint, Water, and Soil X-ray Fluorescence Principles and Operation Radiation and Other Safety Practices Planning Lead Inspections Community Education and Intervention Methods

Lead Risk Assessor

Lead risk assessor is a two-day follow-up to the lead inspector course that offers further training on the identification and assessment of lead-based paint hazards, as well as options for controlling lead hazards. Participants must have successfully completed a lead inspector course prior to taking the risk assessor course. Topics Include: Identification of Sources, Locations, and Severity of Lead-Based Paint Hazards Identification of Potential Lead Hazards in Dust and Soil Interim Controls, Abatement Measures and Other Risk Management Practices Used to Reduce Lead Exposure Cost and Feasibility of Lead Hazard Control Options

Lead Abatement Worker

Lead abatement workers must successfully complete this course prior to engaging in lead abatement activities. Hands-on exercises are used to teach methods of containment, abatement, cleanup, use of personal protective equipment and safe work practices.
